Is Blk. Water Actually Good For You?
By GENEVIEVE KANE
Blk. Functional Beverages was created in 2011, after the two founders discovered that fulvic acid improved their mother’s health and comfort whilst she was struggling with breast cancer. Today, Blk. products can be found at many major retailers, and you may wonder about the alleged health benefits of the striking dark-colored Blk. Water.
Fulvic acid is created from microorganisms and has many possible health benefits, including reduced inflammation, improved immunity, benefits to brain and gut health, and others. However, Blk. Water is considered a "natural health product" (NHP), and NHPs are often not well-studied and lack concrete data to prove their claims.
Too much fulvic acid can also be toxic, but in moderation, Blk. Water is hydrating and does contain nutrients that are proven to have real benefits, including electrolytes, amino acids, and antioxidants. However, if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, take medications, or have a health condition, consult with the doctor before drinking this beverage.
