Is Burt's Bees Actually Good For Your Lips?
By ZRINKA PETERS
Burt's Bees took off from the beginning, emphasizing naturally-sourced, simple skincare products and cosmetics. Lip balm was one of the first products to be made by co-founders Burt Shavitz and Roxanne Quimby in 1992, and it quickly became one of the most popular.
Since then, the company has introduced other lip products made with beeswax. These products are good and safe for the lips since beeswax, which is naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial, conditions the skin and traps moisture to help lips stay hydrated and protected.
Burt’s Bees products also contain vitamin E, lanolin, coconut oil, rosemary leaf extract, and sunflower seed oil, which smooth, moisturize, and provide antioxidant protection to lips. Moreover, these products don’t contain phthalates, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, or other nasty chemicals that don't fit their theme.
