Jeff Beck's Cause Of Death Explained
By LAUREN DEMELLO
Notable English guitarist Jeff Beck passed away at 78 on January 10, 2023. His official Twitter page was the first source to share the news today with the statement, "On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck's passing."
The Twitter statement also revealed that the cause of death was bacterial meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is an affliction of the brain and spinal cord via the bloodstream, which causes an infection and immense pressure to these regions, leading to severe illness and death.
Beck was known as a legendary musician out of the 60's era of rock and roll, replacing Eric Clapton of the Yardbirds, and then forming his own group, known as the Jeff Beck group, with Rod Stewart. As an eight-time Grammy award winner, he was not simply a one-hit-wonder.
