The Best Time To Take Your Vitamins
Every Day
By KAREN VEAZEY
Many take one or more vitamins to augment the nutrition they glean from their diet. When it comes to taking vitamins, experts agree that the absolute best time to take them is whenever you will remember to, which will obviously vary person to person.
Vitamins can be taken in the morning or evening, but not late at night, as their absorption won’t be as effective. Of course, some vitamins need to be taken with food, while others can be taken on an empty stomach, and there are some that will interfere with prescriptions.
Fat-soluble supplements like vitamins A, D, E, and K are best absorbed when taken with food, while iron is best processed when taken on an empty stomach. Mineral supplements like magnesium, zinc, and calcium aren't well-absorbed when taken together, while B vitamins boost energy after consumption and are best taken in the morning.
