The One Sign That Could Mean You've Already Had COVID-19
By VALERIE KALFRIN
Early signs of COVID-19 include headaches or fatigue, but these symptoms can also signify the common cold or even allergies. It turns out that there's a fairly accurate way to determine whether or not your worrying symptoms are the result of COVID-19; you just have to look for this lingering long-term sign.
One specific symptom of COVID-19 is the loss of taste or smell. Though COVID-19 is a mainly respiratory virus, these odd sensory symptoms stand out due to their uniqueness and persistence; some coronavirus patients have been left without their sense of smell for 30 days or more, even after other symptoms disappeared.
If you experience a long-term lack of sense of taste or smell, combined with other symptoms like headaches, fever, and fatigue, you've likely had COVID-19, even if you didn't know it at the time. However, a coronavirus antibody test is the surest way to determine if you've been infected or not, so take action the second you feel sick.
