Turns Out Going Barefoot Can Do Wonders For Your Heart Health
By ERIN MARIE
Walking barefoot allows the body to absorb the earth's natural electrical energy. This practice, known as grounding or earthing, can benefit heart health.
Increased blood viscosity can lead to heart disease. According to a 2013 Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine study, earthing can reduce blood viscosity and clumping.
A 2018 Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine case report found that earthing helped those with high blood pressure experience a significant drop in systolic blood pressure.
Per a 2023 Biomedical Journal review article, COVID-19 patients who practiced earthing did not experience blood clot complications, unlike those who did not engage in grounding.
