We all sweat from time to time. Antiperspirants work by physically blocking the pores so that they can't release sweat, according to Insider. They're different from deodorants, which simply mask the smell of sweat, and are designed to prevent its release.

You may have to skip your favorite food

Someone who sweats frequently should also make an effort to wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing. Look for loose-woven cotton and linen fabrics instead of options like nylon or silk, which are more likely to induce sweating.

There are some foods you'll want to avoid if you suffer hyperhidrosis. Spicy foods lead to an increase in body temperature, which will provoke sweating to try to regulate it back to normal. Avoid spicy food any time you don't want to end up sweating. Also steer clear of caffeine, as it kicks adrenal glands into gear and can bring on sweating, according to Healthline.

Since sweating is the body's way of cooling off, you'll want to do anything you can to stay cool in the first place. One important element is to stay hydrated, so be sure you're drinking enough water throughout the day. Also consider spacing out small meals throughout the day, rather than indulging in larger meals less frequently. Digestion produces metabolic heat which forces your body to work harder.
