Experience

Anthony has been writing for as long as he can remember, but his first taste of professional writing occurred as a columnist at The Arizona Daily Wildcat, the student paper for the University of Arizona. After graduating with a degree in political science, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he worked in political communication for private sector firms and for the United States House of Representatives. His portfolio of subject areas included healthcare and technology. When he wasn't drafting op-eds, blogs, and press releases, he volunteered part time as an EMT at the local volunteer fire department, leading to a love of medicine and all things health care. He eventually moved back to his home state of Arizona and began a career transition to become a physician assistant. Now, he maintains his passion for writing by participating in programs such as Stanford Medicine's Talk Rx and Writing Medicine. Additionally, his work has been featured in KevinMD.com and he recently had a personal essay published in The Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. As a surgical PA, Anthony was one of the first in the United States to be accepted for training at the only surgical oncology fellowship for PAs.
