Photos Of Kate Middleton From 2011 To Now Prove There's More To Health Than What Meets The Eye

As the old saying goes, you never really know what someone is going through. Case in point: Kate Middleton, aka Catherine, the Princess of Wales. In March 2024, Kate rocked the entire world when she revealed via Instagram that she had undergone abdominal surgery, been diagnosed with cancer, and was in the process of undergoing "preventive chemotherapy." With her always being the picture of perfection, the general public simply couldn't wrap their collective heads around the idea that the princess was seriously ill. 

Over the years, Kate has always managed to put one chic, pointed-toe pump right in front of the other, complete with a bright white, toothy grin, no matter what might be going on behind closed doors. Enter the old royal family motto, "never complain, never explain." But now, in the aftermath of her serious health crisis, wherein Kate was undeservedly shamed amid her health struggles, photos of the princess from 2011 to now prove there's way more to health than meets the eye.

Kate Middleton looked like an absolute vision when she married Prince William on April 29, 2011. At  29 years old, the princess-to-be's face beamed with a youthful, vibrant glow through her silk tulle veil as she stopped to wave at the crowd before making her way into Westminster Abbey. "Everything outside just roared," wedding guest Martin Fidler recalled to People years later about the surreal moment. "When Kate came in — what a wonderful sight. She looked incredible," he gushed. "And she hasn't changed a bit in ten years.

On July 23, 2013, Kate Middleton bounded down the steps of St. Mary's Hospital in heels, grinning ear to ear with her and Prince William's brand new bundle of joy, Prince George, in her arms. Even with all the flashing lights and the roaring crowd, Kate appeared cool, calm, and collected as she cradled her newborn son. "It's such a special time," she told reporters. However, it wasn't until many years later, in February 2020, that the princess confessed just how nerve-racking it was to show off her brand-new baby to the entire world after giving birth just one day prior. "Yeah, slightly terrifying, slightly terrifying, I'm not going to lie," she told Giovanna Fletcher during an appearance on the "Happy Mum Happy Baby" podcast (via YouTube). 

Prior to her cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton made her last official royal public appearance on Christmas Day in 2023. True to form, the princess looked bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as she walked along with the rest of the royal family to Sandringham Church to enjoy a special Christmas morning service. It's hard to believe that merely one month later, she would be going under the knife for a serious abdominal surgery where they would ultimately find cancer.  

On June 15, 2024, Kate Middleton stepped out at Trooping the Colour looking absolutely stunning. Dressed to the nines in a fitted white dress with black accents and a matching hat, she appeared to be the walking definition of chic. Alas, just one day prior, the princess had openly discussed on Instagram how she still had her "good days and her bad days" post-cancer. She added, "I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal."

In July 2025, Kate Middleton looked as radiant as ever when she paid a visit to the Cancer Wellbeing Centre at Colchester Hospital in Essex, England. Clad in a beautiful beige blazer, she looked like the epitome of health and wellness, even crouching down to plant a rose. However, during a conversation with the patients, it quickly became apparent that Kate was very much still in the thick of learning how to do life again post-cancer. "Actually the phase afterwards is really difficult. You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to," she revealed, as reported by the BBC. "You have to find your new normal and that takes time," she added.  

In September 2025, Kate Middleton shocked the world when she was photographed sporting a much lighter shade of hair during a visit to the Natural History Museum's newly renovated gardens. Immediately, people flocked from all corners of the internet to give their own two cents regarding Kate's new 'do, with many attributing the drastic change in hair color to an unwanted side effect from cancer treatments. Kate, however, set the record straight once and for all during an appearance at the Royal Variety Performance. As reported by the Daily Mail, the princess was overheard telling actress Su Pollard that the new shade was simply a byproduct of spending time out in the sunshine. And there ya have it, folks!
