How 53-Year-Old Cameron Diaz Brought Her Third Child Into The World Is Literally No One's Business
On May 4, 2026, Good Charlotte's Benji Madden proudly announced that he and his wife, Cameron Diaz, had welcomed their third child, son Nautas Madden, to their growing brood. "Welcome to the world Son!! We love life with our family- our kids are healthy&happy, and we are grateful!!" he penned in part on Instagram along with a carousel of photos featuring various pieces of artwork, including a graphic with the meaning of the infant's name.
Sadly, while many rushed to the comments section to extend their well-wishes to the celeb couple on their brand new bundle of joy, others flocked from all corners of the internet to badger the unsuspecting couple with questions about how exactly the baby's birth came to be. "Cameron Diaz rented a womb?" one X user quipped. Meanwhile, another pointedly asked, "How did Cameron Diaz have a kid[?]" A third tweeted, "It's kind of pathetic that she can't say it's by surrogacy or adoption." Newsflash to all the internet trolls: the who, what, where, when, and why questions absolutely do not apply to someone you don't even know announcing their child's birth, as it is quite literally NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. That's all.
There are many ways to have a family and how someone else grows theirs is none of your concern
In case you've been living under a rock, it should come as no surprise that there are many ways to start and have a family. There's the good ol' fashioned way, of course, but there's also artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, surrogacy, and even adoption. Still, for some weird reason, people get wildly hung up on the issue of a woman with advanced maternal age having a child in whatever way that looks like for her. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the term "advanced maternal age" applies to any woman who delivers a baby at the age of 35 or older. Per the Cleveland Clinic, unfortunately, these women can be more predisposed to certain pregnancy complications such as high blood pressure, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and even miscarriage and stillbirth — but again, that is none of your concern.
Sadly, over the years, the subject of Cameron Diaz's fertility has been a hot topic in the tabloids. It should be noted, however, that Diaz, who welcomed her first child, daughter Raddix, at 47, and her second child, son Cardinal, when she was 51, has always been very open and honest with the public about her choice to have children later in life, generously revealing both the good and the bad about her motherhood journey to inquiring minds. "The only pressure for me now is I have to live to be like 107, you know? So, no pressure," Diaz joked during a 2020 appearance on Naomi Campbell's podcast, "No Filter with Naomi." She added, "I really feel like this is my sweet spot and my happiest time in my life," she gushed. Folks, if Diaz is happy, that's all that matters. Mind your own beeswax!
