Joan Collins' Stunning Cameo At 92 In Cannes Has Everyone Revisiting Her No-Nonsense Health Tips

In more ways than one, Joan Collins has proven that there is beauty in simplicity. While attending the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, the iconic actor donned an elegant plain white dress with an eye-catching silhouette. However, instead of appreciating the simple yet elegant gown, many netizens found themselves doing double takes over the fact that Collins was 92 years old. The "Dynasty" star's ageless beauty seems even more impressive when we consider how she achieved her looks through an uncomplicated lifestyle. 

In an interview with The Lady, Collins shared that her childhood fascination with beauty products had only deepened when she moved to the City of Angels. In her early days in Hollywood as a 22-year-old, Collins started wearing sunscreen to protect her skin from sun damage. There's no doubt the Hollywood icon is well aware of what happens to your skin when you don't use sunscreen because she has carried that habit with her through her older years. 

Meanwhile, in a September 2023 interview with The Guardian, Collins revealed that she hadn't had any cosmetic work due to her fear of needles. Instead, she had found that her mother's long-standing advice to moisturize constantly and apply night cream had done the trick for her. Speaking to Good Housekeeping in May 2016, the English actor shared that she tried to moisturize three to four times a day when she was staying at home. In fact, Collins was so serious about her skin's hydration that she would even make sure to apply some extra night cream if she woke up in the middle of the night.

Joan Collins has also prioritized physical activity from a young age

In an interview with Platinum Magazine (via Hello! Magazine), Joan Collins shared that her workout routine had evolved as she had aged. In her teen years, the British film icon would spend hours dancing to keep herself active. Then came the era where she regularly hit the gym or attended Pilates sessions. Although Collins had to reduce her physical activity levels as she aged, she was still determined to move her body. 

Speaking to Time & Leisure in August 2023, the "Empire of the Ants" star shared that she had opted to do 30-minute training sessions with a physiotherapist. During those admittedly energizing sessions, Collins would do loads of stretching and core and leg strengthening exercises, and shape her arms with light dumbbells. It seems she knows that the best exercises for older adults don't involve putting a ton of strain on the body. The Golden Globe winner went on to share an important pearl of wisdom about her fitness journey, saying, "It takes discipline, I'm afraid. There's no fad or secret or anything of that sort — just sweat, self-restraint and skincare."

On a similar note, Collins told Hello! Magazine in March 2026 that she wouldn't have been able to have toned legs had she not prioritized working out two to four times a week. Collins was proud to say that exercising regularly was "not terribly strenuous" for her at that point. Suffice it to say that Collins' fitness journey is a direct answer to the question: Can you ever be too old to exercise?
