Katie Couric is perhaps best known for her long, successful career in journalism and media. As it turns out, the 69-year-old is also something of a health and wellness aficionado with a strong commitment to aging well. But don't just take our word for it. In March, Couric spoke with USA Today about her zest for life following her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis in June 2022 and the untimely death of her husband, attorney and legal analyst Jay Monahan, from metastatic colon cancer in 1998 at the age of 41.

"He missed seeing his daughters grow up. He missed watching Ellie get married. He missed seeing Carrie, you know, be Phi Beta Kappa at Stanford. He'd be so proud of both of them," Couric said. "I think when you lose somebody like that, it makes you so grateful to be at every chapter of your life, that you actually have multiple chapters to appreciate and enjoy."

And just in case you're wondering — yes, Couric is the real deal, and we've got the pics to prove it. From her love of Pilates to her routine colonoscopies, her healthy diet, and her wish to be there for her grandchildren, it's plain to see that Couric really is all about aging well.

Katie Couric loves Pilates

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Katie Couric decided to take up Pilates to help pass the time. Spoiler alert: It paid off tenfold. "Pilates has been so helpful to me. I was starting to get sciatica and feeling so stiff," Couric gushed during an interview with her instructor, Ashley Platten, for her website, Katie Couric Media.

But that's not all. In April 2021, Couric posted a mirror selfie on Instagram while showing off what can really happen when you do Pilates every day. "I woke up feeling pretty good about myself. Eating better (I think I've rediscovered my waist!) on my way to Pilates with @ashleypattenpilates," she penned in part in the caption. Looking good, Couric! Looking good!

Katie Couric is a big fan of Dr. Hyman's 21-day reset featuring his Pegan Diet

In February 2021, Katie Couric announced on Instagram that she was participating in Dr. Mark Hyman's 21-day reset to rein in the weight gain she had started to experience during the pandemic. "I'm having trouble seeing my feet lol!" she joked. The rules? She was to follow a nutritional plan known as "The Pegan Diet," which marries principles from the paleo and vegan diets. And according to Couric, the plan works. In March 2021, she took to Instagram to tout the results. "Feeling good after almost a week on the Pegan reset courtesy my friend @drmarkhyman," she enthused while showing off her strong biceps.

Katie Couric is serious about getting her colonoscopies

At the top of 2026, Katie Couric proved she talks the talk and walks the walk when she posted a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed right before having her colonoscopy. "Just a reminder, if you're 45 or over please get screened for colorectal cancer," she advised her followers. Ever since Couric lost her husband to the disease, she has made it her mission to advocate for early colorectal cancer screenings and spread the message on how early cancer screenings can save lives. "We're seeing people in their early 40s, in their 30s and even their 20s being diagnosed with this disease," Couric stressed during her March 2026 USA Today interview. It's "absolutely critical" to see your doctor if you notice any of the early signs of colorectal cancer, she added.

Katie Couric remains in tip-top shape for her grandchildren

In March 2026, Katie Couric told USA Today that one of the main reasons she wants to age well is so that she can be there for her grandchildren. "I'm so lucky to be here," she declared. "I hope I'm there for a long time for my grandchildren," she said, referencing not only her grandson, John Albert, but also her second grandchild on the way. "And it's so fun to be able to experience a little kid and to see the world through his eyes and to watch my daughter become a mother."

As evidenced on her Instagram account, Couric (who goes by "Gogo" to her grands) is a very hands-on grandmother. In March, Couric wished her grandson a happy second birthday on Instagram, posting a photo of the happy birthday boy sitting cross-legged on the ground and playing with a Tonka truck. Thankfully, it appears Couric will have no problem playing trucks on the ground for many years to come!
