In May, during an appearance on "FOX & Friends" to discuss her new book, "Uptown Girl," Christie Brinkley spilled the beans on her vegetarian diet and why she credits it as her top beauty secret. "First of all, my number one beauty secret is that I have been a vegetarian since I was a little kid," Brinkley revealed. "And I really, truly believe that if everybody would at least try and be a vegetarian or a vegan... I'm currently a vegan. I have been for the past, maybe a year now," she explained before imploring viewers to give the diet a go. "Try it. You'll love it. And you'll never feel better," she declared about what happens to your body when you go vegan. "And you'll be helping our planet, which is vitally important right now," she added, seemingly also referencing the wellness trend known as the climatarian diet.

It should be noted, however, that there are different types of vegetarian diets, including the lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, which eliminates meat and fish but allows eggs and dairy; the pescatarian diet, which is strictly fish-based foods only and omits all meat; and the vegan diet, which prohibits all animal-based foods and products. Brinkley has been known to dabble in all three at different times in her life. "Over the years I've been a vegan, I've been a macrobiotic, I've been a lacto-ovo. The one constant since the day I stopped eating meat was that I haven't eaten any red meat or fowl," she told The Cut in 2018. Another thing that has remained the same is her commitment to eating all the colors of the rainbow by way of various brightly colored vegetables and fruits, as she detailed in her 2015 book, "Timeless Beauty."

Christie Brinkley is also big on exercise and drinking lots of water

Rest assured, it's not only Christie Brinkley's strict diet that's responsible for her iconic and perpetually youthful appearance. As it turns out, there are many things you can do to slow down aging. As for Brinkley, she's particularly big on moving her body. In 2024, Brinkley told People that her preferred methods of exercise include an outdoor bike ride or a Peloton class, and that she's also a big proponent of the Total Gym, a home fitness system for which she is a spokesperson. "I find that if it's in my home, I'm going to do it," she said.

But that's not all. Brinkley is also a big fan of drinking water — and lots of it. In 2017, the beauty icon told Forbes that when she "drinks lots of water, she feels so much better." But can good hydration really slow the aging process? According to Dr. Natalia Dmitrieva, a researcher at the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Brinkley just might be on to something. In 2023, Dmitrieva, along with others, published a study in eBioMedicine about the role hydration plays in slowing down the aging process. "The results suggest that proper hydration may slow down aging and prolong a disease-free life," said Dmitrieva in a news release about the findings. In that case, we'll have what Brinkley's having!
