'80s Star Morgan Fairchild Maintains A 'Strict' Diet & Exercise Regime To Stay Fit At 76
In a world where celebrities are prone to giving vague answers about how they stay in shape, Morgan Fairchild has been refreshingly honest about the fact that it takes conscious effort to stay fit as you age. Those close to her have been open about her lifestyle, too. Chatting with Closer Weekly in May 2025, an insider offered insight into the actor's exercise routine and diet, saying, "She still exercises every day and has a personal trainer." The source added, "She also follows a pretty strict low-carb diet with a lot of organic vegetables, she's very health conscious."
During a June 2020 chat with Closer Weekly, Fairchild herself revealed that she had been following a keto diet to lose weight. The keto diet encourages dieters to heavily restrict their carbohydrate intake and increase their fat consumption to send the body into a fat-burning state called ketosis. The '80s soap icon star told Closer Weekly that, at least at the time, she would start her day with a keto-friendly version of oatmeal that possibly replaced oats with other ingredients to keep the carb levels low. For the rest of her meals, she mostly stuck to salads.
To give someone like herself, who doesn't enjoy cooking, the best shot at reaching her fitness goals, Fairchild relied on pre-packaged foods from Ideal Protein. Overall, she had found that the keto diet wasn't all that hard to follow, even though it came with a lot of specifications. Thanks to the disciplined mindset that motivated her to follow her diet to a T, she managed to drop 30 pounds at the age of 70. Moreover, Fairchild seems to be well-aware that you can never be too old to exercise.
Morgan Fairchild is a huge proponent of staying active
Speaking to PhotoBook Magazine in October 2024, Morgan Fairchild revealed that she had an uncomplicated approach to beauty and health from the get-go and prioritized the basics like a nutrient-dense diet, regular exercise, hydration, and a good skincare routine. For the "Dallas" star, who turned 76 in 2026, consistently following these basics only became more important as she aged.
In a 2008 interview with Brain & Life, Fairchild made it clear that she prioritized consistency over perfection, as she opened up about the importance of exercising. "Just making yourself get out and do things just keeps everything functioning better: your brain, your body, I think everything," she shared, adding, "Even just walking 45 minutes a day." Considering what happens to your body when you take a walk every day and the fact that brisk walking has powerful anti-aging benefits that are backed by science, it's safe to say that Fairchild's assessment was right on the money. However, walking isn't the only activity that helps her stay in shape.
During her chat with Brain & Life, the "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" star shared that she hit the gym nearly every single day when she wasn't busy with work. Her consistency at the gym was motivated by aesthetic goals as well as a deeply rooted belief that exercise should only become more of a priority as she ages. Fairchild also kept her health in mind while making smaller decisions throughout the day. So, she preferred taking the stairs instead of the elevator and sometimes walked to nearby destinations instead of driving. Ultimately, it's clear that Fairchild works hard consistently to stay fit.
