Elizabeth Hurley doesn't believe that grueling gym sessions are the only way to stay in shape. In an October 2017 interview with The Cut, the model opened up about her fitness regimen, saying, "I don't do any regulated exercise, but I'm very active." She continued, "On the weekends I go for long hikes with my dogs. I try and stretch every day. I do the occasional yoga or Pilates class, but mostly it's just self-exercise at home." Occasionally, she also throws in movements that target specific body parts, like her arms or core.

For someone with a hectic schedule like Hurley, "found fitness," a philosophy that encourages people to get their heart rates pumping throughout their everyday routine, is a more sustainable form of movement than hitting the gym. Opening up about one such form of daily movement in a September 2025 interview with Hello! Magazine, Hurley shared that when she is back home, she spends a large portion of time gardening. In the process of tending to her garden, the "Bedazzled" actor inevitably ends up lifting things, bending over multiple times, and stretching her body.

Previously, in an October 2021 Women's Health interview, Hurley revealed that when it comes to gardening, some of her favorite forms of movement are logging, which is cutting and relocating trees, and raking fallen leaves. Sharing another example of an everyday movement she loves during another chat with Women's Health, she revealed that she sometimes does squats while brushing her teeth. Additionally, when she's walking her dog, she tries to move at a pace that gets her heart pumping.

Elizabeth Hurley swears by walking

In October 2018, Elizabeth Hurley told Us Weekly that while she is big on staying active, she doesn't believe that high-energy sports are worth all the hype since people can get their heart rates up from brisk walking. Indeed, there are plenty of good things that happen to your body when you start power walking or brisk walking. To name a few, it can help burn calories, lower blood pressure, and promote overall weight management. Unsurprisingly, she leads by example and walks throughout the day to stay active. With her exercise habits in mind, it's obvious that Hurley knows all about the easy ways to turn daily errands into exercise, one of which is walking instead of driving.

However, for Hurley, being healthy isn't just about staying active but also nourishing her body with foods that help her feel her best. In an Instagram post shared in January 2024, Hurley shared that she isn't a big believer in fads like green juices or shakes. Instead, she believes in the basics, like filling half of your plate with fruit and vegetables. Although "The Royals" star hasn't eliminated any food from her diet, she only eats so-called "junk food" on rare occasions.

Summing up her diet philosophy, Hurley wrote, "My mantra is: don't eat too much, too fast, too often or too late. Or, put another way, eat smaller meals, chew properly, ban snacking and eat dinner earlier." Hurley might be onto something with that philosophy, since research has shown that eating late at night can have a surprising side effect: poor sleep.
