Female Celebs Who Drink 3 Liters Of Water A Day Or More And Look Absolutely Radiant

For many celebrities, no amount of beauty treatments can accomplish the same results as some good old-fashioned hydration. While these A-listers have gushed about how hydration has blessed them with glowy skin, they have also made sure to mention the exact amount of water that did the trick for them. For some, it's 3 liters a day. For others, it was around a gallon or about 3.7 liters a day. If that number seems intimidating, it's worth remembering that experts aren't sure where those popular hydration goals came from.

Chatting with Cleveland Clinic, Beth Czerwony, RD, stated that most people didn't need to chug a gallon of water daily, while also stressing that there were no real downsides to the practice. The site noted that although hydration goals differ from person to person, most folks will do just fine with 64 ounces a day. Still, there's obviously no denying that a lot of good things happen to your body when you drink plenty of water every day. In a chat with Vogue India, Deanne Mraz, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale New Haven Hospital, explained how good hydration specifically benefited the skin, saying, "The skin is a reflection of what's going on inside the body, so when the body is in balance and optimal health, the skin will reflect that." She continued, "The main impact that hydration has on skin appearance is improved blood flow to the skin, delivering nutrients and oxygen to it as well as detoxifying the body."

To understand what this benefit looks like in real life, we have to look no further than photos of celebrities who have consistently prioritized good hydration over the years.

Beyoncé

According to British Vogue, Beyoncé once said, "I try to take care of myself, drinking at least a gallon of water with lemon a day." While drinking lemon water doesn't necessarily offer many health benefits, it can encourage people to consume more water by naturally changing up the flavor of the plain old beverage.

For someone like the music icon, who reportedly follows a strict diet, a little bit of fun and flavoring likely goes a long way. Considering how Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data shows that adults only drank 44 ounces of water daily on average between 2015 and 2018, it's safe to say that anything that gets people to up their hydration game is a boon.

Gabrielle Union

Speaking to The New York Times in August 2014, Gabrielle Union shared that she aimed to drink a gallon of water daily. Ideally, around 32 ounces of that number was to be consumed during breakfast. The "Bring It On" star gushed about the simple practice, saying, "It's the biggest thing for hair, skin, nails."

Additionally, in a November 2014 Elle interview, Union also deemed hydration the secret to her ageless appearance. The model said that the best advice she had received to hit her daily hydration goals was to consume half of her daily gallon by noon and the other half by 6 p.m.

Padma Lakshmi

Speaking to WebMD, Padma Lakshmi shared that her daily hydration goal was around 3 liters of water. Additionally, in a March 2026 chat with the BBC, the former "Top Chef" host said she was adamant about staying hydrated when traveling and tried her best to consume 16 ounces of water every 45 minutes that she was on a plane.

Lakshmi is undoubtedly aware that air travel is one of the many surprising causes of dry skin. Speaking to Trinny London, dermatologist Justine Hextall, MD, shared that the recycled cabin air could dry out the skin. She also confirmed that staying hydrated before, during, and after the flight could help minimize the effects.

Elle Macpherson

Speaking to WelleCo, Elle Macpherson revealed that drinking 3 liters of water daily was one of the many secrets to her health. During a June 2017 chat with Get The Gloss, the model shared that she had been told that the skin's cells look like plump grapes when they had been replenished with ample water. Without the hydration, they resemble raisins and make the skin look the same way.

In another chat with WelleCo, Macpherson revealed that she tries to down a liter of water after she wakes up. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to make drinking water the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning.

Khloé Kardashian

In a June 2015 Instagram post, Khloé Kardashian shared that she tries her best to chug a whopping 5 to 6 liters of water daily, as per her nutritionist's advice. Although the reality TV star admittedly doesn't always succeed, she was still proud of herself for even attempting to meet that tall goal.

Now, that hydration goal might prompt some to point out that drinking excessive water can do more harm than good. However, Kardashian's story is a great example of how everyone's water intake goals differ based on their lifestyle. Considering the fact that she consulted with a nutritionist to come up with that goal, it's safe to say she knows what she's doing.

Michelle Monaghan

In a July 2015 chat with Into The Gloss, Michelle Monaghan shared that, at minimum, she drinks 3 liters of water daily. Then, during a September 2025 Entertainment Tonight interview, the "True Detective" star opened up about why she has made hydration a priority, saying, "It makes me feel good from the inside out."

Likewise, in a 2020 interview with Byrdie (via Women's Health), Monaghan deemed water the secret to her glowy skin. In fact, she even went so far as to say that her skin only looked more radiant as she drank more water.
