Experience
Laura began freelance writing in 2010 while earning her master's degree in exercise science. She has written extensively on nutrition, health, and fitness in online and print publications including Men's Health, Men's Journal, Thrillist, Mashed, Verywell Fit, Health.com, The Healthy, and more. Two years ago, after her first husband died suddenly from a short, two-month battle with cancer, Laura moved to Costa Rica to embrace the concept of "pura vida".— "pure life." Whether horseback riding through the hills and picking mangos off the trees or stopping at a local bar for a beer, she believes that every moment should be embraced and enjoyed fully.
Education
As someone always interested in fitness, health, and living well, Laura pursued and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise and sport science. These degrees included extensive coursework in nutrtion, exercise physiology, kinesiology, sports psychology, and more. This, combined with her professional pursuits (including teaching at a university for three years), have positioned her to understand and explain the sometimes confusing misconceptions that abound in the world of fitness and nutrition.
