Celebrities Who Made TMI Pooping Confessions

Pooping has become a very taboo topic. Many avoid it if they can, especially in situations where their latest pooping confession will be recorded — but not these celebrities. Famous people often seem to lack an off switch when it comes to confessing some outrageous hygiene habits and otherwise private routines. And, when it comes to bowel movements, these stars are no exception.

While many might encourage such conversations to happen with doctors rather than hundreds of thousands of adoring fans, the stars' unfiltered candor is almost groundbreaking, given how uncomfortable people feel discussing bathroom habits. In a way, these stories can lend a sense of validity to an often undiscussed — but completely natural — bodily function.

However, until this topic reaches the mainstream, their very specific stories about strange pooping accidents or even obsessions with bowel movements may simply feel TMI. Though pooping is important to discuss, including being able to recognize when something may be wrong, these details are best left out of radio show spots, podcast episodes, and nationally acclaimed television programs.

Jason Kelce's in-uniform accident had us cringing

Perhaps one of the best NFL centers of all time, Jason Kelce reached new levels of fame with his "New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Travis Kelce. Though their late 2025 release took the cake for the biggest episode yet, with guest star Taylor Swift, the older Kelce brother also used his podcast platform to make a rather embarrassing poop confession.

In a November 2024 episode (via YouTube), Jason revealed that as he readied for a game in the locker rooms, he farted a little more than gas. Thinking that he was in the clear after having a trusted friend check his pants, the Eagles player joined his fellow teammates on the field. Shortly after stretching and warmups, another player pulled Jason aside to have a chat, teammate-to-teammate. He told Jason plainly, "Hey, you've got s*** all up and down your pants right now." Jason hurriedly excused himself from the field, got partially undressed, and quickly showered right before the game.

Jason didn't leave the conversation there, however. He made a cunning remark about the physicality of the game, even explaining one of the unexpected triggers that can bring on a poop. As a football player, Jason explained that the exertion of a lot of energy and effort on the field, in addition to the hits near his gut that he has taken as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, can bring about the need to use the bathroom.

Ed Sheeran had an on-stage incident with a misjudged fart

Ed Sheeran is no stranger to the stage; in fact, his decades-long career has led him to an almost constant position in front of an audience. However, despite this celebrity status, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer wasn't afraid to get a little more than candid about his bowel movements back in 2015. As part of a press junket for his "X" album tour, the British singer appeared in a short spot on the Australian radio show, Nova FM.

When the conversation steered its way toward more bathroom-centric topics, Sheeran admitted that he is quite the farter. Noting that he farts all the time, and given his on-stage presence, it's not all that shocking that the singer-songwriter farts while performing. During a particular performance, Sheeran got into the zone, and his relaxed state on stage let a fart slip out. As he went to pass gas, the worst happened with an audience there to watch. "I actually once misjudged a fart on stage, which ended up being a shart," he told the radio hosts (via VH1). To make matters worse, the performance was nowhere near done. "It was like midway through a performance and I was really lively," Sheeran revealed, "and then halfway through I was like, 'All right I'm just going to stand for the rest of the performance, and hope it's over soon and then go home and throw these trousers out!"

Joe Jonas shared a similar poop confession to Ed Sheeran

Joe Jonas has a similar story to that of Ed Sheeran's. Appearing as a guest on the "Will & Woody" radio show in 2023, the boy band star confessed to his on-stage accident. During a late 2010s performance, the Jonas brother explained he had pooped his pants, requiring a quick change of wardrobe. Fearing that fans could tell the reasoning behind the sudden switch-up in outfits, Jonas toiled over the incident before eventually settling with the truth: "That's just real life, you know."

His poop confession didn't end there. The nightmare incident was made worse by one more detail about the singer's pre-poop outfit. "Let's just say it was a bad day to choose to wear white clothing," the singer told the radio show. The combination made for a scarring event for the "Cake by the Ocean" singer, as he jokingly admitted to needing therapy following his on-stage accident before coming to terms with the inopportune poop.

Jonas did share that if anyone at the concert looked back on the recordings, they may be able to spot the moment he ducked off the stage for the quick change. Though he revealed that you won't notice anything on his pants, he did worry for some time that fans had noticed a poop stain on his white slacks as he hurried away.

Al Roker soiled himself in the worst place imaginable

In 2002, Al Roker wasn't the co-host and anchor that audiences know him as today. He was a beloved weatherman who had gone on a very important trip. While on this visit, he confessed in an early 2010s interview with "Dateline," he had a bit of an accident. What makes Roker's story so different from his celebrity counterparts, however, is the location where the journalist had his poop incident. The weatherman had gone on a visit to none other than the White House.

The journalist linked the incident to a recent gastric bypass he had undergone. After the surgery, as part of his recovery, Roker was supposed to avoid certain foods that might upset his stomach. He confessed, however, that he did not listen to this advice. So, after eating something his doctors prohibited from his diet, the "Today Show" host experienced some upset bowels (via USA Today).

Like many other celebrities who have made poop confessions, Roker thought that the feeling deep in his stomach was nothing more than gas. Thinking all he had to do was fart, Roker ended up having an accident in his pants while in the White House. In a panic, he excused himself, rushed to the press room restroom, threw out his underwear, and went commando the rest of the day (via People).

Billie Eilish made a confession about poop that didn't involve a soiling incident

The "Bad Guy" singer Billie Eilish made a bit of a different poop confession in a 2019 interview with Pitchfork. Eilish, just 18 years old at the time, revealed her love of bowel movements. "I love pooping," she told the production team, "God, pooping is underrated — one billion percent underrated! It's my favorite part of the day."

Her rant, divulging her adoration for the bowel movement, did not end there, however. The "What Was I Made For" singer went on to reminisce about her favorite pooping experience. In one day, Eilish pooped eight times. As she talked about the day, the singer enthused, "That was the best day of my life, and they were all solid poops too."

The nine-time Grammy Award winner was also quick to dip into a more scientific part of the bowel movement, noting that the consistency and health of your stool all revolve around your diet. Presumably talking from experience, the young performer commented that certain foods affect your poop habits and pooping experiences, which is scientifically correct. Everything about poop, from its color to its shape and length, is a result of an individual's diet. In fact, when you eat just right and introduce enough fiber into your diet, pooping can be something that happens almost on demand (or at least routinely). Eilish's confession, though definitely tamer than her famous peers on the list, actually carried a sharp truth with it.
