Guy Fieri's On-Set Injury Split His Quad Muscle In Half — And His Outlook On The Future Is So On-Brand

In late November 2025, Guy Fieri made headlines when he revealed why he was in a wheelchair, explaining that he suffered a serious on-set fall that resulted in his quad muscle splitting in half. "You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it exploded," Fieri dished during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. Fieri went on to reveal that, aside from joining the ranks of actors who were seriously injured while filming, he also earned himself a set of crutches and a wheelchair, with strict orders to stay off his leg for at least eight weeks.

True to his brand, however, Fieri has kept a positive outlook amid the harrowing workplace accident. During a subsequent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he confessed that he had gleaned a few "silver linings" from the injury, including cultivating a deeper gratitude for his health and advocating for those with disabilities. "You look at people with disabilities and realize we take so many things for granted," he said. "Next time you see someone on crutches, maybe clear a little path. Open the door for them."

Guy Fieri's positive outlook is aiding in his healing

On January 13, Guy Fieri gave fans a medical update during an appearance on Entertainment Tonight. "I just had to get through it," he said about his personal road to recovery. "The time is up, the PT has started. I've got the greatest wife; she was super helpful," he declared. "Now, it's just getting back to it and getting the PT done and getting the doctor to sign off that I can get back to exercising."

Fortunately, with Fieri's positive outlook, can-do attitude, and grateful spirit, he will likely be on the mend in no time. But don't just take our word for it. According to psychologist Dr. Cali Estes, your mood can affect all areas of your body, including your heart, your blood pressure, and even your sleep patterns. "Long term unhappiness can wreak havoc," she cautioned during an exclusive interview with Health Digest in January 2023, "while happiness can almost heal your body."
