Kate Middleton's Alcohol Reveal Spurs Another Public Fight Over Her Health — Enough Is Enough

Another day, another headline for the Princess of Wales. Kate Middleton managed to unknowingly stir up a hornet's nest following a royal appearance touring London's Bermondsey Beer Mile on March 12, 2026. At first, it looked like all fun and games as Kate and Prince William hammed it up for the onlookers and cameras, stirring brewhouse kettles and pulling pints. Alas, the jovial jaunt took a left turn when The Royal Observer obtained footage of the Princess chatting it up with someone at Fabal Beerhall. When Kate was pressed as to whether or not she was "a beer drinker," she graciously responded that she was not. "Since my diagnosis, I haven't had much alcohol. It's something I have to be a lot more conscious of now," she explained (via YouTube).

Sadly, following the Princess' revelation, internet trolls immediately flocked to all corners of the World Wide Web to give their own two cents about Kate's decision to steer clear of alcohol. As evidenced on one Reddit thread, a user took issue with the princess making the connection between alcohol and cancer while at a place of business that serves alcohol. "Doesn't seem like much of a help to the Fabal Beerhall. In fact, they must have been pretty annoyed! Why'd she even go to the brewhall? To tell the world they are selling a carcinogenic product? Or why not accept the glass and just drink a little?" the user fired off.

While Kate's trepidations about alcohol might be inconvenient for those in the beer business, drinking alcohol can indeed increase your risk of seven different types of cancer. Furthermore, if people on the internet really cared about Kate, they would stop talking about her weight, her choice to abstain from alcohol, and everything else regarding her personal health, for that matter. Enough is enough!

Kate Middleton's personal choice to abstain from alcohol is no one's business but hers

Over the years, Kate Middleton has been scrutinized for everything — from her hair to her clothes, and even the way in which she parents her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Sadly, all of the public speculation surrounding the princess reached a tipping point in February 2024, after she was notably missing in action from many royal events and appearances. Cue the wild conspiracy theories. In March 2024, things got so bad that she came forward and publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan, including preventative chemotherapy. "We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment," she said in the video statement (via Instagram).

Sadly, it appears that Kate has gotten very little space from the public as a whole, especially regarding her post-cancer journey, including her decision to abstain from a known Group 1 carcinogen, as classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer

Perhaps, however, the greater debate is not about the link between alcohol and cancer, but why Kate's drinking habits, or, in this case, lack thereof, are anyone else's concern. "Why are people making such a big deal about her choice to stop drinking alcohol? Lots of people don't drink alcohol for various reasons," one Instagram user said, weighing in on the discourse regarding Kate's disclosure. Simply put, whether Kate prefers to abstain from alcohol for the rest of her life or tie one on next Saturday night, it is none of our business!
