Side-By-Side Pics Of Celebrity Men Who Have Admitted Ozempic Or GLP-1 Use
The Internet's abuzz with stories from media personalities who have confirmed Ozempic or GLP-1 use (and are showing off their results). Similarly, there are many millennial stars who admitted to using Ozempic and other GLP-1s. And as it turns out, plenty of celebrity men have taken off pounds with GLP-1s, too.
Why don't you see as many men named in "public figures who use GLP-1s" lists? Simple: They're not as statistically apt to take drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro. In fact, according to a 2024 health tracking poll by KFF, 18% of adults (nearly one-fifth) say they have tried a GLP-1, women are nearly twice as likely as men to be actively using a GLP-1 to lose weight or manage a chronic medical issue.
Of course, some men in the spotlight are voicing positive and negative experiences with GLP-1s. And in many cases, their physical transformations are visually remarkable.
Gabriel Iglesias
Funnyman Gabriel Iglesias turned to Ozempic to get his weight under control. However, after losing weight, he stopped using the GLP-1 and told People that he quickly regained 20 pounds.
While a guest on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast, Iglesias explained why he ditched the GLP-1 that seemed to be working: "The problem with Ozempic is you're going to lose more muscle than fat." A 2024 review in Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism supports his assertion to an extent, stating that studies show GLP-1 use may cause the loss of up to 60% of a person's total lean muscle.
Jim Gaffigan
Comedy may be Jim Gaffigan's profession, but he's serious about keeping off the 50 pounds he's lost using a GLP-1. Case in point: Even though he doesn't want to lose more weight, he's staying on his preferred GLP-1 medication. As he admitted while on the "Glass Half Full" podcast, "I don't trust my own behavior."
For the record, Gaffigan's hardly the only person who's determined to stay on a GLP-1 for life. When speaking with People, Oprah Winfrey echoed similar sentiments.
Jonathan Van Ness
It's safe to say that Jonathan Van Ness has had one of the more shocking GLP-1 weight loss changes. Van Ness dropped 70 pounds, a move that made some fans concerned (via People). Indeed, many people accused Van Ness of abandoning his body positivity messaging.
However, Van Ness is clapping back. On TikTok, he addressed doubters: "I was always really cute, and I always felt cute, but I just didn't feel good. And now I feel good."
Harvey Fierstein
Harvey Fierstein's GLP-1 of choice was Zepbound, a medication that helped him drop an impressive 120 pounds (via Prevention).
For Fierstein, taking a GLP-1 makes him feel different than when he was just dieting. In an interview with Page Six, he noted, "I feel like a normal person. I can go and have dinner with friends and not have to eat every piece of bread on the table."
Andy Cohen
Now a Bravo TV mainstay, Andy Cohen has been in the spotlight for years. But recently he's shrunk to the tune of approximately 25 pounds thanks to "microdosing" GLP-1s (via People). During a Hollywood Access interview, he said that microdosing "really whipped [him] back into shape" after he discovered he couldn't button his pants.
Microdosing means taking less than the recommended or FDA-approved amount of a GLP-1. Cohen claims it works for him, although medical professionals like obesity expert Dr. W. Scott Butsch of Cleveland Clinic recommend that patients stick to their prescribed doses.
Boy George
For singer Boy George, the GLP-1 Mounjaro has allowed him to get thin since, as he told People, "I have struggled with my weight most of my life." He's also turned to cosmetic procedures to get the body he wants, most notably a procedure to remove excess fat from his stomach area.
In his recent autobiography, "Karma," George claimed that he was hardly alone in turning to a GLP-1. In the book, he wrote, "Trust me anyone who was fat last year and is now skinny is on the wonder drug" (via Page Six).
Tracy Morgan
What does Tracy Morgan do on an average Thursday? According to an E! News interview, he takes Ozempic. "It cuts my appetite in half," said the comedian.
Morgan hasn't shared exactly how much weight he's lost, although he's clearly smaller than he was before starting a GLP-1. However, based on recent photos, the star has bypassed having an extreme Ozempic face (a telltale sign of too-quick weight loss associated with use of the drug, characterized by gauntness in the cheeks and eyes).
Michael Rubin
You might not see Michael Rubin, the CEO of the brand Fanatics, on your social media feed. But he's still enough of a popular figure to gain press for taking a GLP-1. In fact, People reported on his weight loss in a 2023 article.
Rubin claimed that starting a GLP-1 had been "life changing" in a 2022 CNBC interview. Maybe that's why he ended up posting a shirtless photo of his muscular physique on Instagram in 2023, commenting, "Thanks to @mounjaro_us – without it I'd be the Pillsbury Doughboy."
Eric Stonestreet
Although TV and film personality Eric Stonestreet (you know him from "Modern Family") started taking Mounjaro to treat his diabetes, he lost weight as a side effect (via People). Yet he's quick to tell others to be realistic and take their GLP-1 journeys slowly.
Stonestreet cautions, "Don't say, 'Man, I'm going to run a marathon,' or 'I'm never going to have a piece of candy again in my life.'" Instead, he recommends taking life "bit by bit" (via Business Insider).
